Tasmanian defence recruits sign on for new futures in the force
TWELVE Tasmanians have been farewelled by family and friends to commence their training to become officers in the Australian Defence Force.
The young men and women were appointed in January as officer cadets in the Army and Royal Australian Air Force to study at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra.
The recruits will join more than 300 midshipmen and officer cadets from across Australia to undertake a three-year military and leadership training program while studying for undergraduate degrees in arts, business, engineering, information technology, science or technology through UNSW Canberra at ADFA.
The 2015 ADFA appointment ceremony was held at the Anglesea Barracks in Hobart.
