THE City of Hobart has released two background papers as part of its climate change strategy review.

The review will set new goals for the City to cut greenhouse gas emissions and help the community to make reductions.

It will also look at how the City needs to manage its assets in the face of more frequent and intense storms and bushfires.

You can take the review survey at yoursay.hobartcity.com.au/climate-change-strategy-review to let the City know what you think should be done.

The City of Hobart has already been active in cutting its greenhouse gas emissions, with a 30.8 per cent reduction in energy use since 2009/10.

It is on track to reduce its energy use by 35 per cent in 2020.

Once a climate community forum is held in February 2018 and consultation closes in March 2018, the City will start writing a draft strategy, which it will release for public comment later in the year.
