On-the-spot CPR training for Salamanca market goers

SALAMANCA market goers received a flash course in compression-only CPR and first-aid training when St John Ambulance hosted a CPR Lap at Salamanca Market on 29 April.

Appearing ahead of the annual conference “In Our Blood 2017”, this was the first time the mobile CPR Lab has been used in Tasmania and featured a high-tech, fast-paced learning experience to upskill individuals in first-aid training in just 10-minutes.

The compression-only CPR training aimed to give individuals the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency and St John Ambulance completed 56 sessions on the day.

The CPR Lab’s appearance acted as a precursor to the conference’s Gala Dinner, which featured a keynote speech by the Lord Prior Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Malcom Ross OBE from the United Kingdom, the third most senior individual within the Order under Sovereign Head the Queen.
