THE City of Hobart has teamed up with Glenorchy and Clarence councils in an initiative to foster diversity and inclusion in the greater Hobart area as part of Harmony Week 2019.
The ‘Harmonious Hobart’ initiative will see a wide range of activities held across the city from 17 to 24 March to celebrate the many benefits that a rich culturally diverse community brings to city life.
“Cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and Harmonious Hobart aims to showcase Greater Hobart as a welcoming and inclusive place to live, learn, work and play,” City of Hobart community development officer Scott Davis said.
“We hope these events will build connections across Hobart’s many communities, promote understanding of different cultures and help newcomers feel welcome.”
The Harmonious Hobart project is funded through the Tasmanian Government Multicultural Grants Program.
