DIRECTIONS Theatre Pty Ltd is pleased to announce its return to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in February 2020 with a production of the Shakespeare comedy, ‘As You Like It.’

The gardens will come alive in one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies where dukes and their daughters, comely maidens, a shepherd and a clown will play out their courtly games in the rustic beauty of the Forest of Arden.

As You Like It is a play about love at first sight, and we like it.

Rosalind is banished from her uncle’s court, disguises herself as a man and hides out in the Forest of Arden.

There with her cousin Celia and Touchstone the court jester, love runs riot but all the mismatches, cross dressing and fighting turns out okay in the end – just as we like it.

This show is suitable for all who love the poetry and prose of Shakespeare and has ever fallen in love.

As You Like It is directed by Ellen Roe and features the talents of local actors Natalie Venettacci (as Orlando), Anna Kidd (as Rosalind), Emma Skalicky (as Celia), Noah Casey (as Jaques), Simone Dobber (as Touchstone), Jack Lark, Andy Aisbett, Jared Goldsmith, Paul McNally and Tai Gardner.

As You Like It will be presented in the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens from 31 January to 28 February, with shows held Tuesday to Friday at 7pm.

Tickets are $30 full and $20 concession.
