Community Expo paying homage to our seniors

FOR the fourth year in a row, South Eastern Community Care (SEC Care) will host a free Community Expo during Seniors Week 2019.

Paying homage to Tasmanian seniors, the family-friendly Community Expo brings together more than 25 organisations from the health, wellbeing and community sectors to provide information, advice and free health checks.

SEC Care chief executive officer Helen Pollard said the organisation was proud to offer their free community event during COTA’s Seniors Week running from 14 to 20 October.

“Hosting an event like our Community Expo during Seniors Week is our way of showing our elders how much we value their contribution to our community,” She said.

SEC Care is a not-for-profit organisation that supports people of all ages with in-home and community care.

The Community Expo will feature a free sausage sizzle, Devonshire Tea and a petting zoo to keep the little ones entertained.

“We believe the SEC Care Community Expo is a testament to the community spirit that is alive and well in the Sorell municipality, and are excited to be a driving-force behind that ethos into the future,” Ms Pollard said.

The Expo will be held at 12 Somerville Street in Sorell on Saturday 19 October from 11am to 2pm.
