Ask Santa for a season subscription

THE Playhouse Theatre has been an iconic entertainment venue in Hobart for the better part of a century.

It was purchased by the Hobart Repertory Theatre Society in 1937 and since that time, Hobart Rep has maintained it by carrying out extensive renovations and improvements to this heritage-listed building.

The Playhouse has seen hundreds of fine productions and has been the training ground for dozens of actors, directors and playwrights who have gone on to national and international acclaim.

Hobart Rep is proud of the fact that, as a society run by volunteers, it has provided the citizens of Hobart a regular program of quality live theatre for nearly 100 years.

Hobart Rep president Liz Lewinski said she was very excited about the upcoming 2020 season.

“This is one of the most exciting programs we have put together in recent times, and I believe our audiences are really going to love what we have in store,” she said.

For the upcoming 2020 season, you can purchase a three or four show season subscription and be treated to a year-long bonanza of quality theatre.

Season 2020 includes the following shows.

Keeping Up Appearances – written by Roy Clarke, this classic comedy makes its Tasmanian premiere from 28 February to 21 March and is directed by Shauna-Lee Ward.
