Annual exhibition set to impress

THIS year’s annual Heritage Art Group Exhibition is shaping up to be one of the best with its brand new theme “From Mountains to Sea”.

The exhibition consists of a variety of oil paintings ranging from large paintings through the miniatures.

“It even includes paintings on piano keys,” long-time member of the Heritage Art Group Bill Watson said.

Running since 6 February, the Exhibition was opened by Lord Mayor of Hobart Alderman Sue Hickey.

“It was great having the Lord Mayor participate in the event,” Mr Watson said.

“She seemed particularly impressed with the miniature paintings of various bird life, especially the sea eagles and blue wrens by artist Bob Jager.”

Artists involved in the exhibition received tutoring by internationally recognised, award-winning artist Joan Humble, who also has work available for viewing.

The exhibition is being held at the Derwent Sailing Squadron Marieville Esplanade, Sandy Bay until Friday 27 March.
