A world of zany chaos awaits at Collegiate

ROARING onto the stage this month is St Michael’s Collegiate Junior School production “The Zany Zoo”.

Each year all Collegiate students in years one to four contribute to a combined stage production under the banner “Anglesea presents”.

Production director and Collegiate Junior School music teacher Sonya Van de Geer said it was wonderful to have the whole junior school together in a musical.

“The girls gain so much from the experience,” she said.

“Their teamwork and stage awareness improves as they gain a working understanding of a real theatre performance.”

As the curtain is drawn this year, audiences will be welcomed into Zoe’s Zoo – a world of zany chaos that goes with the opening of a new park for a unique collection of animals.

Wacky behaviour from the animals proves to make the animal testing needed before the opening quite a challenge.

Wonderful and unforgettable zoo characters make up an unique cast that includes a vegetarian alligator, synchronised swimming fish, cheerleading tigers and ballet dancing elephant.

The Zanny Zoo will be showing on Wednesday 21 September at 11am and 6.30pm and Thursday 22 September at 6.30pm.

All performances will take place in Linmor Hall at Collegiate’s Senior School Campus.

Entry is via Davey or Macquarie streets.

Ticket and booking information is available at www.collegiate.tas.edu.au.
