A gentle approach to dentistry

VISITING the dentist can be a nerve-wracking experience.

Either instilled at a young age or originating from a traumatic experience, fear of the dentist can often cause people to put off regular hygiene appointments, coming at great risk to both their oral and general health.

But this is not the case for patients at Penney Proud Dental, as primary dentist Dr Saf Devji places a high importance on “gentle care”.

“It’s all about being respectful of a patient’s anxiety and reassuring them,” Dr Devji said.

“With a gentle approach to dentistry in a relaxed environment, we aim to show patients that visiting the dentist can be a pleasant experience.”

Located in Sandy Bay, Penney Proud Dental offers a conservative, holistic approach to dentistry in order to provide patients with the best possible care.

Dr Devji said the practice’s major focus was on dental prevention and that patient knowledge played a big part in the whole picture.

“Our patients are very well informed of their oral health and will walk away from their initial consultation with a comprehensive treatment plan, knowing their dental health and treatment needs,” he said.

“We provide all general dentistry services, including Zoom Whitening, Myobrace and Soft Tissue Laser.

“My specialisation is in aesthetic dentistry, which enables me to perform full mouth rehabilitations, while fellow dentist Dr Neel Joshi has a special interest in root canals and extractions.”

Penney Proud Dental will also be welcoming new dentist Dr David Dickinson to the practice this month (April).

“With more than 30-years of experience in the industry, we expect Dr Dickinson will make a valuable addition to our team,” Dr Devji said.

Currently open to new and emergency patients, Penney Proud Dental is a Medibank Choice Provider and offers a no gap initial appointment for all new patients who have private health insurance with dental cover.

Penney Proud Dental is located at Level 1, 6 Gregory Street, Sandy Bay.
