Queens Domain summit reaches new heights

THE City of Hobart will bring the Queens Domain summit back to life for walkers, picnickers, cyclists and dog lovers under a $1.2 million plan to revamp the area.

Architecturally-designed pavilions that blend into the natural surroundings, new toilets and improved parking are all part of plans to inject new life into the Queens Domain summit area.

The City of Hobart hopes to encourage people to celebrate and embrace the Queens Domain as one of the City’s natural playgrounds.

The public are invited to have their say on the Draft Queens Domain Summit Plan from mid-April to mid-May.

The plans include three new sheltered pavilions with long tables perfect for large, communal gatherings.

Dog lovers will also be catered for, with dog bowls and taps added to one of the pavilions, keeping people’s pets watered and happy.

The plans are consistent with the Queens Domain Master Plan and the City’s commitment to improving visitor access to the park.
