Help celebrate the Ancanthe Park upgrade

LENAH Valley locals may have noticed all the positive changes at Ancanthe Park over the past few months.

Now that everything is finished, the City of Hobart is throwing a party.

Improvements to the park include a new rammed earth toilet block, new bus shelter and landscaping, which has removed modern additions to take the park back to its original design.

The park will be officially opened on Sunday 19 November between 12noon and 2pm by Hobart Lord Mayor Sue Hickey.

There will be a free picnic lunch with tea and coffee, as well as a giveaway of free native plants to help your garden attract local birds, lizards and insects.

Bush Adventures will guide a walk through the park to point out some of the native plants and animals that rely on Ancanthe as home.

The Arts Society of Tasmania will open the Lady Franklin Gallery, as they do every weekend from 11am–4pm, to showcase their latest exhibition.
