THERE is no excuse for not getting out and about in Hobart’s parks and gardens with the release of the Healthy Hobart program for spring and summer.
The program kicks off with a family expo on Sunday 22 October at Long Beach, Sandy Bay.
Come along between 10am and 12noon to have a go at AFL, cricket, surf lifesaving, soccer, petanque and badminton.
The full program is packed with activities for young and old that provides the chance to try a new sport or activity.
Running from late October to late November and from early February until mid March, there are close to 20 different activities with adult yoga sessions running weekly.
Weekly sessions for young children will feature a different activity each week, including circus skills, the Imagination Playground, kids yoga, art and bush fun.
The popular “have a crack” sessions encourage beginners to try out a new sport or activity and include kite flying, mountain biking, rock climbing, netball, tai chi, orienteering, cricket, tennis and dancing.
