HAVE you been a long-time user of the Marieville Esplanade area in Sandy Bay or live nearby?
The Tasmanian Government has identified Marieville Esplanade as one of the areas that will be vulnerable to climate change impacts in the coming decades.
The Hobart City Council is already factoring in the effects of climate change to its future planning, with coastal areas expected to feel the impact early.
As part of this planning, the Hobart City Council recently held two community information sessions and released a background paper for the area.
The paper explores the implications of the expected sea-level rise and the increased number of strong storms and resulting coastal flooding and erosion to the area.
Hobart City Council is interested to hear of any changes local residents may have already noticed.
